Head Coaches - CLS
On Friday September 12, 2003 at 7:30pm there will be a mandatory workshop for this select group of Head Coaches. This will be the first of a continuing series of workshops, for those involved in the coaching of teams in the CLS. Meetings will be 3 times per year with the next 2 workshops being in January and May.
The purpose of this workshop is to give this select group of individuals an opportunity to interact not only among themselves, but more importantly to become more well acquainted with the individuals that officiates their weekly games. We have invited 7 NJ referees (State and Nationals) to kindly join us for this workshop.
This is an important opportunity to exchange views and increase understanding. We will be very fortunate to have the State Director of Instruction and a State Referee Instructor / Assessor conducting the workshop. The topic that they will be presenting is "Making Sense...". As Head Coaches you will have the opportunity to be exposed to the actual methodology that is used to instruct these same officials that are in the room with you.
This meeting is restricted to those individuals that are actually Head Coaches of the 12 clubs of the CLS. Only those individuals attending this meeting will have this official designation, and thus have the authorization to coach a CLS club on the sidelines during the fall. If other members of your organization accompany you to this workshop, they will not be allowed entrance.
You are requested to bring with you copies of papers documenting the highest coaching license you may have attained. This may be a USSF license, or a license issued by your home country. If you are bringing a foreign license, please bring an official translation into english of the document. We will assist you in having this foreign license recognized by the USSF, and if applicable, categorized as a National Coaching License.
For the Fall Season, we are allowing you to coach in a grandfathered situation, with or without an actual coaching license. The CLS will be offering the USASA Adult Coaching License Course during the upcoming winter months. For the Spring Season, we will NOT allow a Head Coach to be designated as such without having his credentials as USSF National Coaching License, or the USASA Adult Coach License.
